The Etsu Nupe and Chairman, Niger state Council of Traditional Rulers, Alhaji (Dr). Yahaya Abubakar has conferred the traditional title of Shaba Nupe on Alh. Abdullahi Ya-Ilata Manko.
He was until his new title the Kpotun Nupe, the District of Gaba and head of the Masaba Royal dynasty.
He succeeded the 17th Shaba Nupe Alhaji Abdulmalik Ndayako, the maternal uncle of the present Etsu and a younger brother to the 12th Etsu Umaru Ndayako, who died last week at the age of 82
Shaba Nupe is the second in command after The Etsu Nupe in Bida Emirate Council of Niger state. He is the son of Late Nakordi Abdulkadir (the 12th Nakordi Nupe).
Before his current elevation, he has held the titles of Dan Amar Nupe, Rofyan Nupe, Nakodi Nupe and Kpotun Nupe.
