A tanker explosion on the Zaria-Kano highway killed two people and injured others this evening, Dateline Nigeria learnt.
The Commander, Fire Service, Zaria, Mallam Umar Mohammed, said two persons died in the tanker which was loaded with petrol as a result of tire bust.
He said the driver was rescued and taken to a hospital in Zaria.
However our correspondent reports that the said tanker was barricaded as a result of the incident Motorists flying the either Kano from Kaduna or Kaduna from Kano had to take alternative routes through the Zaria township roads
