Soldiers, police clash averted over train tickets

A clash was averted on Sunday at the train station in Rigasa, Kaduna by soldiers and policemen over tickets.

Dateline Nigeria reports that Sundays are usually busy at the train station due to the large turnout of passengers.

Many people have abandoned the Kaduna-Abuja highway due to fear of being kidnapped.

A passenger who was at the train station told Dateline Nigeria that the crisis was averted after some good samaritans intervened.

Soldiers and other security agents are also regular passengers of the train. This has led many to conclude that the government is not interested in securing the Kaduna-Abuja which services the northwestern states.

Attempt to reach the officials of the train station was unsuccessful up to the time of filing this report.
