Germany’s first black member of parliament has tweeted that shots have been fired at his constituency office.
Karamba Diaby, who was born in Senegal, said that bullets hit a window that was displaying his portrait.
He added that the police were investigating the incident.
Mr Diaby arrived in Germany in the 1980s as a student and later settled in the country.
He is a member of the centre-left Social Democratic Party and has been a vocal opponent of the far-right AfD party.
“AfD’s only answer to global challenges is always exclusion. We will never allow this racist exclusion,” he said during a debate last month.
