Police rescue 6 abducted persons from bandits in Katsina

Six people have been rescued by the police following a raid on bandit camp in Danja Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isah, said the cops recorded the success in Tandama village on Saturday based on intelligence report received by the command.

Those rescued by the police include: Alhaji Garba Dan Mallam, 52, Rabiu Idris, 45, Abba Sama’ila, 38, Yunusa Sani, 54, Ishaq Yakub, 40, and Danjuma Sama’ila, 45.

The BBC also reports that a joint operation involving soldiers and police also killed a notorious bandit Abdulkarim Faka-Faka in the Tandama area, while many of his gang members were injured.
