The executive governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki has put to rest rumours that he is returning to the All Progressives Congress.
Obaseki won a second term last Saturday on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party, defeating Osagie Ize-Iyamu, candidate of the All Progressives Congress.
He met with President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday at State House.
The All Progressives Congress had earlier disqualified Obaseki from standing for the election under its platform, paving way for Ize-Iyamu.
Since his victory, there have been speculations that he might be returning to the APC after the polls. However, Obaseki told journalists at the State House that his return to the APC would be “immoral”.
