Lamido turbans Aisha Buhari’s brother Sarkin Gabas Adamawa

Lamido Adamawa Dr Muhammadu Barkindo Aliyu Musdafa has turbanned Dr Mahmood (Modi) Halilu Ahmed, a younger brother to First Lady Aisha Buhari, as the Sarkin Gabas Adamawa.

Also turbanned at the ceremony which took place at the Lamido palace in Yola on Saturday, is Comrade Mustapha Salihu as Sai Adamawa.

The ceremony was attended by dignitaries from within and outside the state, including Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governors Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti, Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar of Jigawa, Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi and Minister, Niger Delta Affairs Ministry, Senator Godswill Akpabio.

Others include Minister of Transportation Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, Senator Kashim Shettima, Talban Daura Yusuf Buhari, and Chief Barnabas Gemade.

Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri was represented by the Speaker of the Adamawa State House of Assembly Hon Aminu Iya Abbas.

Dateline Nigeria reports that Dr Mahmood Halilu Ahmed, a member of the National Institute (mni), is a former Adamawa governorship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019.

Alhaji Musa Halilu Ahmed, a younger brother to Modi, also holds the traditional title of Dujima Adamawa.
