Kontagora emir appoints 22 new district heads

Sarkin Sudan Kontagora Alh Muhammadu Barau Muazu II has appointed 22 new district heads (DHs) after getting the approval of the Niger State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs as well as consultation with his council members.

Dateline Nigeria reports that 91 ward heads were also appointed by the monarch. This brings the number of district heads to 42 and ward heads to 281 since the establishment of the emirate in 1858.

The new district heads are:

1. Alh. Aliyu Mu’azu S. Sudan, DH of Mailehe

2. Alh. Bello Muhammed Ango, DH of Usalle

3. Alh. Atiku Isah, DH of Masuga

4. Alh. Samaila Fodio, DH of Babban Rami

5. Alh. Iliyasu Ibrahim, DH of Mariga

6. Alh Ado Salihu Ucici, DH of Ucici

7. Alh. Mamman Ukata, DH of Ukata

8. Alh. Garba Musa Mahoro, DH of Mahoro

9. Mal. Saidu Abubakar Daja, DH of Daja

10. Alh. Abubakar Ahmed, DH of Igade

11. Mal. Musa Ahmed, DH of Dalau 

12. Mal. Abubakar Muhammed, DH of Anaba

13. Mal. Shehu Musa Mamba, DH of Mamba

14. Alh. Tanko Musa, DH of Ibeto North

15. Dalhatu Bello, DH of Tsohon garin Rijau

16. Alh. Jafaru Aliyu Mohamed, DH of Tungan Magajiya

17. Alh. Ibrahim Abubakar Noma, DH of Tungan Kawo

18. Alh. Wakili Bahago, DH of Warari

19. Mal. Haruna Ibrahim, DH of Iri

20. Alh. Ibrahim Umar Babangida, DH of Akare

21. Alh. Umar Ibrahim, DH of Karkara

22. Mal. Kabiru Saidu Babangida, DH of Madangyen

The emir urged the new district heads to be fair and just in dealing with their people. He also prayed for them to succeed in their new assignments.
