Katsina emirate loses kingmaker

A senior title holder and a kingmaker in Katsina Emirate Council, Alhaji Nuhu Abdulkadir, has passed on.

Abdulkadir, who held the title of Kauran Katsina and District Head of Rimi, died on Tuesday at the age of 80.

He led the selection process that culminated in the emergence of the present Emir of Katsina Alhaji Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, after the death of his father on March 8, 2008.

Born in 1942, Alhaji Nuhu AbdulKadir was turbanned Kauran Katsina in 1982 by the former Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Kabir Usman.

He is survived by many children and grandchildren and was buried at 2pm in his palace in Rimi.
