Kaduna Electric inaugurates joint operations teams with SIPTEO

The Management of Kaduna Electric on Monday in Kaduna inaugurated the Joint Operations Teams comprising members from the Company’s Enforcement Unit and the Special Investigation and Prosecution Taskforce on Electricity Offences (SIPTEO).

This is in a renewed effort to stem the menace of energy theft and vandalism of power supply assets in its franchise.

The Managing Director/CEO of Kaduna Electric, Engr. Garba Haruna, who was represented at the event by the Chief Technical Officer of the Company, Engr. Bello Musa charged members of the Joint Operations Teams to work assiduously to justify confidence repose on them by the
Management.

He stated that the inauguration of joint operations could not have come at a more appropriate time given the continue rise in the Company’s monthly obligations to the market.

“Our monthly obligations to the market has continue to rise; as such, all revenue leakages must be plugged and cases of energy theft and vandalism of power supply infrastructures must be decisively addressed to enable us meet our obligations to the Nigerian Electricity Supply Industry,” he said.

The electricity boss also called on the Teams to adhere strictly to rules of engagement and ensure that the customers are treated humanely, respectfully and in most dignified manner as demanded by the customers’ centric policy of the Company.

The Joint Operations Teams are mandated to monitor and bring to book all perpetrators of energy theft, meter tampering/bypass and all other electricity offences.
