Obaseki wins 2nd term

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has won a second term of four years.

Obaseki of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) polled 307,955 votes to defeat Pastor Ize-Iyamu of the All Progressives Congress, who got a total of 223,619 votes.

The PDP won in 14 of 18 local government areas in Edo State, according to the results released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Gov. Obaseki gave his victory speech via Telescope.

In the state capital, thousands of Obaseki’s supporters thronged the streets to celebrate the victory.
