Jigawa announces date for commencement of pilgrims’ airlift

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has confirmed that the first flight of the state’s intending pilgrims will leave for Saudi Arabia for the 2023 Hajj exercise on Saturday, May 27th.

The Executive Secretary of the board, Alhaji Ahmed Umar Labbo, disclosed this in an interview with newsmen in Dutse on Sunday.

He said the first airlift is expected to begin with 395 prospective pilgrims from Dutse International Airport by Azman Air.

Labbo explained that the board had so far processed visas for over 1,500 pilgrims and distributed uniforms and other kits to the pilgrims for this year’s Hajj exercise.

He added that the board had paid about N4 billion to NAHCON, which represents 100 per cent of the state’s 2023 Hajj fares.

According to him: “We have completed all arrangements with stakeholders, including security agencies, for a successful and hitch-free exercise.”
