Jimeta, Nigeria’s seventh indigenous IGP passed-on on Thursday, 21st January, 2021 in Abuja.

“Born on 15th April, 1937 in Jimeta, Adamawa State, late IGP Gambo-Jimeta joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1959 as a Cadet Sub-Inspector.

“He rose through the ranks and served the Force in different capacities. “Since retiring from the Police Force, he held key national positions including the National Security Adviser (NSA) and Minister of Agriculture.”

The IGP, while commiserating with the family of the late former IGP, described him as a courageous super cop, an excellent and incorruptible security expert and a quintessential elder statesman whom the Police family as well as the country at large, would miss greatly.
