The police in Bauchi State have confirmed the killing a member of the Bauchi State House of Assembly Musa Mante Thursday night at his residence in Dass Local Government Area of the State.
The spokesman for the Bauchi State Police Command DSP Ahmed Wakili said Friday morning that the yet to be identified gunmen also kidnapped two wives of the killed lawmaker and his one-year-old child.
The two wives kidnapped are Rashida Musa Mante, 40, and Rahina Musa Mante, 35, and the abducted child is Fausar Musa Mante. They are still with their abductors as of the time of publishing this report.
Baraza represented Baraza/Dass in the Bauchi State House of Assembly until his death. He will be buried today.
The police said four empty shells of live ammunitions have been recovered from the scene of the crime while a hunt has begun to rescue the victims and apprehend the perpetrators.
