Friends speak as corps member commits suicide

Friends on social media have continued to react to the news of Miss Bolufemi Princess Motunrayo, a youth corps member, who allegedly committed suicide by consuming two bottles of sniper insecticide.

The incident was said to have happened on Friday.

A suicide note allegedly left behind by the late corps member reads: “I did this because I see nothing worth living for in this world.” She appended her signature and then added under:  “Mummy, I love you. Daddy I love you. Matthew and John, you guys should take care. We will meet, where we will depart no more. I love you guys”.

Miss Motunrayo, who hailed from Ijumu in Kogi State, was serving at the Girls Secondary School, Ibagwa-Aka, Igbo-Eze South Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.

She was a graduate of Banking and Finance from Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, in Kogi State.

Funke Ajayi, who spoke to journalists on behalf of the family, said they were in deep shock over the sad incident.

She said Motunrayo never showed any sign of depression and was very cheerful a day before she ended her life.

Meanwhile, Motunrayo’s friends on Facebook have continued to react to the sad news.

Obosi Stephen said: “Someone depressed writing PTO on the letter? This looks like a murder. They should investigate. RIP any way.”

Oba-Ilumeji Gabriel Aremu Ayokusibe said “It’s a pity you don’t have someone to tell you what the dead see… How the dead suffer… You would have preferred to live.”

Danny Kruz wrote: “Madam, committing suicide was not the best option, that was a foolish step you took. Anytime I feel down I always pray to God for help.”

Adebayo Andrew wrote: “RIP, you shouldn’t have committed suicide now.”

Onundi Omolarami Ajakaye said: “What could have led to this? Why take your life? Why don’t you speak to someone? Oh my God abiyamo Ku oro eh.”
