Fintiri swears in Bappare as new chairman Adamawa Muslim pilgrims board

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri Wednesday 22nd December 2021 has swore into office Sheikh Imam Bappare Umar Kem as the new State Chairman Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, following the resignation of Sheikh Abubakar Ibrahim Daware. The event took place at the Conference Hall, Government House, Yola.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri congratulated Sheikh Umar Kem for his well deserved appointment and charged him to uphold the oath he has taken for the development of the Board and the State as a whole.

The Governor advised the new Chairman to bring his vast wealth of experience to bare in delivering his responsibilities toward changing the narratives performed in hajj exercises over the years.

He charged him to ensure that pilgrims especially fulani pastoralists that use their hard earned money to go for pilgrimage are not shortchanged.

He urged new Chairman to use his position and foster peaceful coexistence and harmony between Muslims and non-Muslims in the State, assuring him that Government will give all the necessary support for smooth execution of his duties.

The new Chairman of Muslim Pilgrims Welfare Board, Sheikh Imam Bappare Umar Kem expressed gratitude to Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri for giving him the opportunity to serve at helm of affairs of the Board and promised to bring in his wealth of experience as member of the board for almost two years and being part and parcel of initiating policies for the betterment of the board.

He appealed with the Governor to interven in some issues at the Board, which include landscaping of the Hajj camp, and nagging cases of fraud among others.

The oath of office and allegence were administered on the New Chairman by Attoney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barr. A.K Jingi.

Dignitaries present were Deputy Governor Crowther Seth, top Government officials among others.
