Family loses six herders to attack in Osun

Gunmen have launched an attack on a Fulani settlement in Irewole, Osun State, and killed six people.

The spokesman of the Osun State Police Command Opalola Yemisi confirmed this to the BBC Hausa service.

She added that the command has opened an investigation into the attack while the Osun State Commissioner of Police Wale Olokode and other officials have visited the area.

Reports said the attackers stormed the settlement and opened fire on the residents, killing six of them.

Last in Anambra State, gunmen attacked a Fulani settlement and killed four herders.
