Ex-gov Yari says Jamilu Shinkafi’s funeral to hold Monday

The funeral for late Dr Jamilu Shinkafi the (Sardaunan Matasan Arewa), will hold on Monday in his home state of Zamfara, former Governor Abdulaziz Yari has said.

Shinkafi, also known to friends as Jagaba, died in a road accident while travelling back to Abuja from Bauchi State where he attended the wedding of a friend Ibrahim Rabo on Saturday.

Yari, the leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State, said the funeral prayers will hold at the deceased’s private residence in Sabon Garin Shinkafi by 2:00pm.

Yhe Vice Chairman of APC in charge of Zamfara Central Alh Sani Gwamna Mayanchi disclosed this in a terse statement he issued on behalf of Yari in Kaduna on Sunday.

The Minister of Communications and Digital Economy Dr Isa Ali Pantami said he was with the late Shinkafi at the Bauchi wedding on Saturday.

“May the Almighty Allah forgive and be Merciful to our younger brother, brother Jamilu Ibrahim Shinkafi who passed away today as a result of road accident. He was with me in Bauchi, yesterday,” Pantami said.

The Personal Assistant to the President on New Media Bashir Ahmad said “Jamilu Shinkafi had been a brother for several years, today was his last day in this world. Indeed, we will all return to Allah (SWA) at our own appointed time. May Allah forgive all his shortcomings and grant him highest rank of Jannah. Allah ya jikan sa, ya gafarta masa, Ameen.”

Johannes Toby W., who is on Buhari media team, said “Jamilu Shinkafi breathed life everywhere he went. He was a burning flame; sparking life at every gathering. He was present for his friends and for our party, the APC. One minute he’s bustling with his contagious energy, another minute he is gone. May his soul Rest In Peace.”

Many others took to the social media handles to mourn the death of Shinkafi.
