The Emir of Kauru, Alhaji Ja’afaru Abubakar, a second class chief in Kaduna State, has passed on after a protracted illness.
Known traditionally as Sarkin Kauru, Alhaji Ja’afaru Abubakar died Thursday evening at Barau Dikko Teaching Hospital Kaduna at the age of 74.
Sources informed Dateline Nigeria that the burial of the monarch will hold today Friday in Kauru.
Alhaji Ja’afaru Abubakar, who was appointed emir on September 18, 1993, celebrated his silver jubilee in 2018.
