Coronavirus: WHO commends Nigeria’s transparency

The Director General of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has commended the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) for the swift and the transparent way information on the coronavirus is being shared.

According to reports, infections have now topped 100,000, while fatalities hit over 3,200.

The WHO chief said this via a post on his Twitter account on Saturday.

“Thank you @NCDCgov & the Government of #Nigeria for the swift & transparent way you have shared the #COVID19 sequence from the country’s first case. This a true act of solidarity and an important step in stopping the #coronavirus from spreading further.”
