The Academic Staff Union of Universities has agreed to call off its eight-month strike, Dateline Nigeria has learnt.
The decision followed a meeting on Friday between the ASUU leadership and representatives of the government led by the Minister of Labour and Employment, Dr Chris Ngige, in Abuja
The Federal Government has agreed to increase the total payment to ASUU to N70 billion.
The Federal Government jad earlier agreed to ASUU’s demand to pay their members’ salary arrears from February to June through the old salary payment platform, pending when the university lecturers will complete the development of its own payment platform- (UTAS).
