10th N’Assembly: North East forum endorses Betara for speaker

The North-East Elders and Youths Peoples Forum (NEYPF) has endorsed Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara for House of Representatives Speaker in the 10th National Assembly.

Betara is a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) representing Biu, Bayo, Shani and Kwaya Kusar constituency, Borno State.

National President of the Forum Alhaji Salihu Magaji addressed a press conference today Thursday in Bauchi

He said the elders, youths and people forum want the speakership position zoned to the North East and endorsement of Hon. Muktar Aliyu Betara for the position.

“It shows that the amount of love in our hearts for this great personality is apparent. Hon. Aliyu Betara is a leader and elder, organizer and mobilizer

“Betara has the encyclopedic knowledge of the house and the country at large, he also has the capacity and knowledge to steer the 10th House of Representatives very well ”

Citing reasons for endorsing Betara, he said the lawmaker, as chairman of appropriation committee, succeeded in having the June-June budget cycle changed to January to December for a more effective budget implementation.

“He created job opportunities for over 4,500 beneficiaries across the nation and related with people irrespective of religion, ethnicity or tribe.

“Nigeria is indeed lucky to have a person like Betara who is a detrabilised Nigerian ,as a leader with a vision and passion for the development of Nigeria.

“We are confident that Betara has the ability to carry all lawmakers along in spite of political and party differences because a lot of new members will be coming into the house

“Therefore Betara will be a perfect fit as the country’s next speaker because of his long legislative experience,: Magaji said, adding that Betara is also one of the unapologetic believers in the grand ideas of President-elect Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
