Zulum commissions Tukur Buratai Institute for War and Peace

Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum on Thursday commissioned the Tukur Buratai Institute for War and Peace and its staff quarters at Buratai town in Biu Local Government Area of the state.

Dateline Nigeria learnt that shortly after the commissioning of the edifice, a lecture was delivered by the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Lt Gen TY Buratai titled “Leadership in Counter Insurgency and Counter Terrorism Environment.”

Zulum was accompanied by the Deputy Governor Alhaji Usman Umar Kadafur, members representing Biu and Shani at the Borno State House of Assembly, and commissioners for agriculture, education and that of local government.

In his speech, Zulum said, “The government of Borno state will build a Mega School here in Buratai with a view to providing conducive learning environment for student. I’m also giving a directive with immediate effect for the reconstruction of the abandoned clinic in Buratai town”.

The ceremony attracted distinguished personalities from all over the country including the military, academia, other sister security organisations, Non-Govermental Organisations, traditional rulers and people from Biu, Buratai and environs.
