Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan takes over as NAHCON boss

The New Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON) Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan has formally taken over the leadership of the commission.

Hassan took over from Barr. Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad at a ceremony held Thursday at Hajj House (NAHCON Headquarters) in Abuja.

The new chairman in his address pledged to continue the never ending journey to improve, elevate and uplift the Hajj administration in Nigeria to an enviable height.

“I must pay glowing tributes to the founding fathers whose labor and brow sweat formed the rock on which the foundation of this Commission was laid in 2006 when the enabling law establishing NAHCON was passed.

“It is now our Board’s task to carry on what the visionary pioneers Mallam Mohammed Musa Bello and Barrister Abdullahi Mukhtar Muhammad started. I want to place on record my sincere commendation to the outgoing Chairman/CEO, Bar Abdullahi Mukhtar Mohammed, for his positive efforts and giant strides during his tenure. You will be remembered for changing the face of Hajj management in Nigeria.”

Zikrullah Olakunle Hassan (Osun State) was appointed by President Muhammadu Buhari along with other members for the Hajj Commission.

The others are Nura Yakassai, Executive Commissioner – Policy, Personnel, Management and Finance, Kano State, North West; and Momoh Imonikhe, Executive Commissioner, Planning, Research, Statistics, Information and Library, Edo State, South South.

Part-time Members are: Halimat Jibril, Niger State, North Central; Abba Jato, Borno State, North East; Garba Umar, Sokoto State, North West; Ibrahim Amah, Ebonyi State, South East; Sadiq Musa, Delta State, South South, and Akintunde Basirat Olayinka, Ogun State, South West.

Representatives of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) are: Shehu Dogo, Ministry of Aviation; Nura Abba Rimi, Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Rabi Bello Isa, Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning; Zainab Sherrif, Ministry of Health; Aminu Yarima, Nigeria Immigration Service, and Ibrahim Nuhu, Central Bank of Nigeria.
