Zakzaky’s office speaks on US killing of top Iranian general

The Office of the leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky has reacted to the killing of General Qasem Soleimani, the head of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ elite Quds Force, by US forces in Iraq.

The office reacted through a statement posted on its twitter handle @SZakzakyOffice on Friday.

“In the name of Allah, The Most Beneficent, The Most Merciful

“Inna lillahi wa inna ilahi al-raji’un

“The most arrogant country on earth has once committed a serious and provocative action by assassinating Mujahid Haji Qaseem Sulayman and Mujahed Haji Abu Mahdi Mohandes.

“These high profile martyrs were famous strategists who had spent years trying to rid Iraq and Syria of terrorists. However, the US should bear in mind that their untimely martyrdom will not, for an iota, dissuade the spirit of the resistant fighters just like it will not…

“…them from their copacetic services to Islam, in fact, this will only motivate and embolden them to resist even more.

“We send our heartfelt condolences to Imam Bakiyyatullah (Imam Mahdi), leader Imam Ali Khamene’i (H), Maraji’i and Muslims all over the world, especially the families of the brave martyrs. We also congratulate them for successfully attaining martyrdom. May Allah elevate the souls of martyrs and double their rewards.”

Zakzaky is facing trial in Nigeria.
