The Department of State Services has confirmed that Salihu Tanko Yakasai is in its custody.
DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya, disclosed this in a statement on Saturday.
“This is to confirm that Salihu Tanko-Yakasai is with the Department of State Services. He is being investigated over issues beyond the expression of opinions in the social media as wrongly alleged by sections of the public,” the DSS said.

The Kano State command of the DSS had earlier denied arresting Yakasai who, on Friday, asked the All Progressives Congress (APC) government at all levels to resign if it cannot protect Nigerians.
He spoke through his twitter handle following the abduction of Zamfara schoolgirls.
Yakasai was also sacked as an aide of Kano State Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
