Why PDP will takeover from Buhari in 2023 – Bauchi governor

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed has said that the All Progressives Congress (APC) cannot survive beyond the presidency of Muhammadu Buhari because it is a party of strange bedfellows and untrustworthy people.

He told the BBC Hausa service that happenings in APC have shown that its members are only united because of Buhari, adding that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set to return to power in 2023.

“The PDP is an experience party, we also made our mistakes, but they used propaganda to paint us black in the eyes of the people. They accused of being things we are not but today the truth is out. See the corruption being unearthed in the NDDC, and even the EFCC.

“I am happy people didn’t believe them. They trusted us and voted for us. Even top presidency officials are swimming in corruption allegations.

“Look at the state of insecurity in the country also. After accusing us of being Boko Haram. So who is the real Boko Haram? They just targeted a governor, which never happened when we were in charge.”

When reminded that the PDP also has its own internal problems, Mohammed said “yes we made our mistakes like imposition of candidates and so on, but that is what they are still doing in APC.

“You have seen how the governor of Edo Godwin Obaseki was frustrated out, how a governor was stopped from running for second term in Lagos, how the party could not even field one candidate in Zamfara and so on.

“That was why we were able to seize Bauchi, Adamawa, but they are still continuing in the same manner,” he said.
