Wabba, labour leaders continue protest despite being declared wanted by El-Rufai

The President of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Comrade Ayuba Wabba and other leaders of the Labour union have dared the Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai as they continued their mass action in Kaduna.

Wabba and other NLC leaders were earlier in the day declared wanted by Governor El-Rufai on Twitter, accusing them of economic sabotage.

Speaking at the NEPA roundabout, Wabba said “Let the governor come and arrest me. We are here. We are not hiding. This strike is about workers, not about me.”

The workers are protesting what they termed as the anti-labour policies of El-Rufai, following the recent sack of thousands of workers in the state.

Wabba earlier told the BBC Pidgin that if any Nigerian governor does what El-Rufai is doing to workers, they will do exactly the same thing to him.
