The US Department of State has announced an offer of $7m (N2.5bn) as bounty to anyone with credible information on the whereabouts of Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau.
The Rewards for Justice Program of the US Department of State’s Diplomatic Security Service, said this in a tweet on Tuesday.
The tweet reads, “The United States Department of State offers a reward up to $7m for information leading to the arrest of the terrorist, Abubakar Shekau, leader of Boko Haram.”
It is not clear if the $7m bounty announced is a new one or the one earlier announced by the US in 2013.
