Bauchi State Government has imposed a 24 hour curfew in Yelwa community, a suburb of Bauchi metropolis, as a result of civil unrest last night which left two people dead.
The State Commissioner of Police Umar Mamman Sanda stated this during an on-the-spot assessment of the area where the crises happened.

He said two persons lost their lives, five houses were set ablaze and four persons sustained various degrees of injuries.
The CP added that the police will enforce the 24 hours curfew imposed by the state government and also appealed to the general public for calm as the situation is under control.
He said the violence has no religious coloration and vowed to fish out who ever has a hand in it in order to face wrath of the law.
There’s a heavy presence of combined security personnel that include Army, DSS, police, civil defence corps in affected areas.
