Umar replaces Arabi as State House permanent secretary

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved with immediate effect the redeployment of the Permanent Secretary in the State Jalal Arabi to the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development. 

The Head of Civil Service of the Federation Dr Folasade Yemi-Esan disclosed this in a statement on Monday announcing the redeployment of three permanent secretaries.

According to the statement, Tijjani Idris Umar was also moved from the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development to the State House. Umar was appointed permanent secretary in December to represent the North-East.

Also affected in the redeployment exercise is Sabi’u Zakari who was redeployed from the Ministry of Transportation to the Ministry of Defence.

The statement said the most senior director in the transportation ministry is to oversee the affairs of the office of the permanent secretary pending the appointment or posting of a substantive one.

It added that the handing over and taking over processes should be completed before April 5, 2020.
