Tashe: Kano police ban local pantomime, illegal horseriding

The Kano State Police Command under CP Mamman Dauda, has said that the annual traditional tashe, a local pantomime, during the month of Ramadan has been suspended.

This is because criminals disguise under the pretence of tashe to carry out criminal activities, such as thuggery (daba), handsets robbery (fashin waya), mischief (ta’adi) and drug abuse (Ta’ammali da miyagun Kwayoyi).

“Whoever is caught violating this will be arrested and prosecuted,” according to a statement by the Kano police spokesman SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa.

“Similarly, the command reiterates the ban on illegal horseriding (Kilisa) and the use of fireworks (knock-outs or bangers). Violators will be arrested and prosecuted accordingly.

“Members of the public are urged to use this session to pray for the state and the nation, and continue to be vigilant and report any suspicious person (s) or item (s) or movement to the nearest Police Station or call the Command’s emergency lines as follows; 08032419754, 08123821575, 09029292926.”
