Tambuwal, Mutawalle, hundreds of Muslims attend funeral of Zamfara PDP chair

Sokoto State Gov. Aminu Waziri Tambuwal today joined his Zamfara State counterpart, Hon. Bello Muhammad Mutawalle in Gusau to bury the Zamfara State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Ibrahim Mallaha.

The two governors, many of the party Chieftains and followers as well as hundreds of Muslim faithful thronged the Kanwuri Jumu’at mosque where the Janaza (funeral) prayer was held for the deceased.

Thereafter, the deceased was buried at Tsohuwar Kwata cemetery in Albarkawa quarters of Gusau town.

Mallaha, 59, passed on as a result of cardiac arrest at a German hospital on Sunday. Hitherto, he was on life support machine over kidney related ailments.

During his lifetime, he was a major cotton farmer, contractor and active politician whose interest criss-crossed Democrats and Progressives turfs.

He was the state Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) between 2008 and 2011; and was re-elected in 2018.

A Kingmaker in Gusau Emirate Council, Mallaha is survived by four wives, many children, grand and great grand children.
