Suspected kidnappers, robbers, drug dealers, thugs, others arrested in Kano

  • Motor vehicles, tricycles, motorcycles, illicit drugs and dangerous weapons recovered

In line with the directives of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Alkali Baba Usman, on Community-based policing, and in the Command’s efforts to rid the State of all forms of crime and Criminality, especially the menace of thuggery (Daba), Drug Abuse (Kwaya) and other Social Vices, within the 44 Local Government Areas of Kano State, Clearance Operation led by the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, was carried out between 04/10/2021 and 04/11/2021, before, during and after the Takutaha/Maulud event period.

Below are some of the achievements recoreded within the period under review:-

ARREST OF SUSPECTED FRAUDSTER

On the 02/11/2021 at about 1400hrs, a complaint was received from one Ali Abdullahi, ‘m’ of Kawo Fegi that one Adamu Sani, ‘m’ aged 44 years ol of Kawo Sabon Fegi fraudulently deceived him and collected his Motorcycle valued N420,000 to unknown destination, later on, he told him that he was attacked by unknown hoodlums and collected the said Motorcycle.

On receipt of the report, team of Policemen led by SP Yusuf Buba immediately swung into action and arrested the suspect. During investigation, five motorcycle and some Motorcycles parts were recovered from him which are suspected to be stolen.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THIEF AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

On the 02/11/2021 at about 1530 hours, a report was received that, one Buhari Ibrahim, ‘m’, aged 38 years old, of Unguwar Jakada, Dorayi Baba Quarters Kano, went to Kubwa Abuja FCT on 24/09/2021 at about 0530 hours, and stole away one Motor vehicle Scion Blue in color owned by one Munkaila Hassan Tela, ‘m’.

On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, raised and instructed team of Policemen led by CSP Alabi Lateef to arrest suspect and recovered the vehicle.

The team immediately swung into action, the suspect was arrested and the Motor vehicle was recovered. CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTS FOR RECEIVING STOLEN PROPERTY

On the 31/10/2021 at about 1100hrs, team of Policemen led by SP Yusuf Buba, while on intelligence led patrol arrested one Sama’ila Oladusun, ‘m’. The suspect confessed to be a receiver of stolen Motor Vehicles and also led detectives to the arrest of his accomplice, one Sikiru Alabi.

Four suspected stolen Motor Vehicles were recovered from them. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi ordered for discreet investigation. Suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THIEVES

On the 30/10/2021 at about 1700hrs, a complaint was received from one Yusuf Hayatu, ‘m’, of Kofar Mazugal Kano, that, on same date at about 1600hrs, unknown thief, that disguise as a Tricyclist, diverted his goods to unknown place from Enugu Road Sabon Gari Market Kano to Kurmi Market Kano.

On receipt of the report, team of Policemen attached to Sabon Gari Division immediately swung into action and arrested the suspect, one Imam Maiwada, ‘m’. He was arrested in possession of 11 cartons of set of cooking pots valued N300,000.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Suspect will be charged to court completion of investigation.

ARREST OF NOTORIOUS THIEVES AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN PROPERTIES

On the 30/10/2021 at about 1830 hours, a complaint was received that, sometimes in the 2021, one Muhammad Muhammad, ‘m’, aged 28 years old, conspired with one Usman Bashir, ‘m’, aged 20 years old, all of Wura Bagga Quarters Kano, broke shops of a resident at Badawa Quarters and stole away many valuables items and money, cash, totaling N1.04 million.

Upon receipt of the report, team of Policemen attached to Badawa Police Station immediately swung into action and arrested the suspects.

The said Muhammad Muhammad confessed to several shops breaking in Badawa Community and led detectives to the arrest of his accomplice, one Ishaq Hamisu, ‘m’, aged 23 years old, of the same address who help them with his shop by harboring and concealing the stolen properties.

Seventy Two different Keys which they use for commission of the crime were recovered. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR CONCEALING STOLEN PROPERTIES

On the 27/10/2021 at about 1400hrs, team of Policemen while on working credible intelligence at GSM market Farm Center Kano, arrested one Naziru Muhammad, ‘m’, 27 years old, of Brigade Quarters Kano in connection with theft of Mobile Phones.

During investigation, the suspect confessed to have aid the theft of 10 difference Mobile Phones valued N300,000 that were recovered in his possession and Three Laptops used in commission of the offence also recovered from him.

The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THUGS (YAN DABA)

On the 26/10/2021 at about 1900 hours, team of Policemen attached to Mandawari Division, one Muhammad Yusuf, ‘m’, aged 19 years old, of Kofar Dawanau Quarters Kano, Usman Lawan, ‘m’, aged 20 years of Mundadu Kwanar Ganduje Quarters Kano in possession of two sharp knives.

They are suspected to be among gang of Yan’daba who usually use knives to stab their victims to enable them robbed their handsets or properties. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THUGS (YAN DABA)

On the 26/10/2021 between 0900 hours to 1800 hours, team of Policemen attached to Bachirawa Division while on Anti-crime patrol on Takutaha procession arrested 14 Hoodlums with dangerous weapons inflicting injuries on innocent persons.

The suspects were in possession of 11 dangerous weapons, the Hoodlums are as follows; (1) Huzaifa Auwalu, ‘m’, of Kurna area (2) Lawan Abdullahi, ‘m’, of Bachirawa (3) Umar Adamu, ‘m’, of Bachirawa (4) Walid Adamu, ‘m’, of Tudun Fulani (5) Adamu Abdullahi, ‘m’, of Tudun Fulani (6) Abdullahi Umar, ‘m’, of Tudun Fulani (7) Sadiq Sagiru, ‘m’, of Tudun Fulani (8) Sama’ila Usman, ‘m’, of Tudun Fulani (9) Ishak Yahuza, ‘m’, of Tudun Fulani (10) Abbas Abubakar, ‘m’, of Mile Tara (11) Ishak Rabiu, ‘m’, of Mil Tara (12) Mohd Umar, ‘m’, of Mil Tara (13) Hassan Haruna, ‘m’, Darmanawa and (14) Umar Abubakar of Darmanawa. Suspects have been charged to court for prosecution.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THUGS (YAN DABA) AND RECOVERY OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS

On the 24/10/2021 at about 1300 hours, team of Policemen led by CSP Bashir Kachallah, DPO Filin Hockey Division, arrested one Umar Suleiman, ‘m’, and Haruna Lawan, ‘m’, all of Hausawa Quarters, Kano. On spot search, one (1) Sword and one (1) machete were recovered in their possession. Suspects have been charged to court for prosecution.

ARREST OF SUSPECT FOR ABDUCTION

On the 23/10/2021 at about 0930 hrs, team of Policemen led by CSP Mannir Madugu while on intelligence led patrol at No. 44 Emir Road Sabon Gari, arrested one Abubakar Bilyaminu, ‘m’, 15 years old of Tudun Wada Brigade Kano concealing a 3 years old baby boy.

On investigation, mother of the baby one Sa’adiya Aliyu was traced and she identified her son named Idris Mu’awuya. Discrete investigation shows that the suspect committed the act under the influence of drugs.

However, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered that case be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED DRUGS DEALER

On the 23/10/2021 at about 2300 hours, team of Policemen attached to Bichi Area Command, while on surveillance led patrol at Damargu Village Bichi LGA, arrested one Usaini Ibrahim, ‘m’, age 24 years old of Kwana Hudu Nassarawa LGA, Kano and Isah Muntari, ‘m’, aged 23 years old of Yelwa Tukubi Bichi LGA.

Suspects were arrested in possession of 20 wraps of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp and 265 pieces of Exol Tablets, and were charged to court for prosecution.

RAIDS OF CRIMINALS HIDE OUT

On the 23/10/2021 at about 0300hrs, team of Policemen while on surveillance led patrol, raided criminals hide out along Kofar Wambai and arrested one Bashir Bala, ‘m’, aged 48 years old and Auwalu Yusuf, ‘m’, aged 22 years old all of Kofar Wambai Quarters in possession of substance suspected to be Indian hemp and a very dangerous weapon. Suspect have been charged to court for prosecution.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED FRAUDSTER

On the 16/10/2021 at about 0300 hrs, team of Policemen led by SP Yusuf Buba while on intelligence-led patrol along Danbare area, Kumbotso LGA Kano arrested one Shamsu Yusuf and Kabiru Abdullahi.

The suspects criminally conspired, invite their friend one Auwalu Umar and took him to hotel, intoxicated his drink with sleeping pills, and carted away his with his Motor Vehicle Honda Civic 2003 Model.

The suspects confessed to their crime and led detectives to where they sold the Car at the rate of N320,000. Suspects have been charged to court for prosecution.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THIEVES

On the 15/10/2021 at about 0900 hrs, team of Policemen attached to Sabon Gari Division while on intelligence-led patrol arrested two suspects on a Boxer Motorcycle with wounds on their bodies desperately looking for medical care.

On interrogation, suspects confessed to have stole the Motorcycle from Rano LGA. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Owner of the Motorcycle will be traced and suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS

On the 15/10/2021 at about 0330 hours, team of Policemen attached to Bachirawa Division while on intelligence-led patrol along Naira da Kwabo Kurna Quarters arrested one Umar Abdulkadiri, ‘m’, aged 17 years old, Abba Ibrahim, ‘m’, aged 20 years old and Umar Sani, ‘m’ aged 18 years old, all of Kurna Quarters in possession of dangerous weapons which includes; Cutlass, Long Knife and little quantity of petrol inside a container.

The suspects are among the notorious thugs terrorizing Bachirawa area. Suspects will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBER

On the 21/10/2021 at about 0200 hours, a report was received from one Jamila Usman, ‘f’, of Shagari Quarters, that a group of Hoodlums numbering about four armed with dangerous weapons attacked her and robbed her one Motor Vehicle Matrix, Ash in color valued N1.25 million, necklace, 14 bundle of textile materials, six different types of GSM phones.

On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, fsi raised and instructed a team of Policemen led by CSP Alabi lateef to arrest the culprit and recover the properties. The team immediately swung in to action.

On the 28/10/2021, one Adeleke Ade, ‘m’, aged 30 years old, of Takai LGA was arrested. During the course of investigation, the said Motor Vehicle Matrix was recovered in his possession. Investigation is in progress.

ARREST OF NOTORIOUS CAR SNATCHER AND RECOVERY OF STOLEN MOTOR VEHICLE

On the 19/10/2021 at about 0530 hours, team of Policemen led by CSP Alabi Lateef while on intelligence led patrol at Badume Village, Bichi LGA arrested one notorious car snatcher named Ibrahim Mato, ‘m’, aged 45 years old, of Aleme Rivers State in possession of Toyota Hilux Motor Vehicle, white in color.

Preliminary investigation revealed that, the suspect stole the Motor Vehicle with intent to take it to his receiver one Iro in Katsina State. Suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED THIEF OF MOTOR VEHICLE

On the 18/10/2021 at about 1313 hours, team of Policemen led by CSP Alabi Lateef, while working on credible information arrested one Zayyanu Muhammad Bello, ‘m’, aged 25 years old, of Nassarawa Quarters, Gombe State in possession of one Honda CR-V 2008 Motor Vehicle, Black in color.

On investigation, the suspect could not give satisfactory account of himself and the Vehicle. The Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, ordered for discreet investigation. Suspect will be charged to court upon completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED ARMED ROBBERS (‘YAN DABA)

Reports received from some residents within Kano Metropolis that, after the concluded Takutaha event, some thugs were planning to regroup, attack innocent citizens and robbed them of their valuables.

On receipt of the report, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, raised and instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by SP Bashir Musa Gwadabe to arrest culprits.

The team immediately swung in to action and arrested 48 suspects between 27/10/2021 and 31/10/2021. Suspects were arrested with dangerous weapons and large quantity of illicit drugs, and will be charged to court for prosecution after completion of investigation.

ARREST OF SUSPECTED KIDNAPPERS / CATTLE RUSTLERS / ARMED ROBBERS

Credible information received revealed that, some notorious Armed Robbers/Kidnappers/Cattle rustlers are terrorizing Tudun Wada LGA, Doguwa LGA along Falgore forest axis and some parts of neighboring States.

On receipt of the reports, the Commissioner of Police, Kano State Command, CP Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko, raised and instructed a team of Operation Puff Adder led by SP Shehu Dahiru to arrest the perpetrators.

The team swiftly swung in to action and following sustained follow up arrested Eight Notorious Kidnappers / Armed Robbers/ Cattle Rustlers. On preliminary investigation, one of the suspects revealed that, they have been in to the crime for over five years and operates in Kano, Jigawa, Bauchi and Kaduna States. Investigation is in progress.
