Stop Alhaji Musa’s ‘offensive’ comedy, man writes Muslim groups

A social media personality Comrade Gaxaley Bello has urged Muslim leaders in Nigeria to stop a comedian ‘Alhaji Musa’ from insulting Islam and Muslims through his skits.

Dateline Nigeria reports that Alhaji Musa (real name Chinedu Ani Emmanuel) is an on-air-personality with the Lagos-based Wazobia FM.

Also known as Nedu Wazobia, the Kaduna-born entertainer mimicks Hausa accent with his pidgin and features busty women in his videos.

However, Bello, in a letter to the Jamaatu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Iqamatus Sunnah (JIBWIS), The Tijjaniyya Movement (Dariqa group), among others said the comedian is overstepping his bounds and needs to be called to order.

He said the comedian’s style, dressing and even content are “insulting to Muslims and the good people of Northern Nigeria.”

Bello said the right to free speech does not accord anyone the right to abuse people’s religion and culture.

Attempt to reach the comedian was unsuccessful.
