A boat carrying mainly women and children has capsized in Birjingo, Goronyo Local Government Area of Sokoto State leaving about 11 people dead or unaccounted for, Dateline Nigeria has learnt.
Funeral prayers have already held for seven bodies recovered so far while search for more bodies continued.
According to the councillor representing Birjingo ward, Isa Muhammad, the accident took place in the morning of Wednesday, while the village head of Birjingo, Alhaji Shehu Dangaladima, blamed the accident on overloading.
