A shop owner identified as Ibrahim Abubakar has hanged himself in an apparent case of suicide.
The incident happened Thursday evening on the busy Zoo road in Kano metropolis.
A son of the deceased Abdussalam Ibrahim told the Freedom Radio that they prayed Asr prayer with his father.
However, upon return to the shop, he met his father’s lifeless body dangling from the ceiling.
Abdussalam said his father, who had a mental issue, was undergoing serious hardship of recent and his daughter’s wedding was fast approaching.
When contacted, the spokesman of the Kano State Police Command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, promised to investigate the issue and revert.
