Sex worker sells 4-month-old baby to Anambra woman for N.3m in Katsina

The police in Katsina State have arrested one Zainab (Justina) Adamu, 25, an indigene of Adamawa State, but residing at Kofar Kaura Layout, Katsina, for allegedly selling her four-month-old girl for N300,000.

According to the police, Zainab Justina conspired with her friend, one Ruth Kenneth, 32, an indigene of Delta State and sold the baby to one Chinwindi Omeh, 43, of Ekuisigo LGA of Anambra State.

The spokesman of the Katsina State Police Command, SP Gambo Isa, said in a statement that the three women were arrested on November 26 based on a tipoff.

Isa said “In the course of investigation another suspect, one Chukwudi Elias Nnali, aged 45yrs of the same address, brother to Chinwindi Omeh, was also arrested for aiding and abetting the commission of the offence.

“The sums of N165,000 and N85,000 were recovered from Zainab Adamu and Ruth Kenneth respectively as proceeds of the sale of the baby. Investigation is ongoing, please.”
