Senator Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed, popularly known as Binani (APC, Adamawa Central) has won the Adamawa State governorship primary election of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
She defeated forner Governor Jibrilla Bidow and former chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Nuhu Ribadu, to clinch the ticket.

Others defeated by the female senator are: a House of Representatives member Abdulrazak Namdas, Wafari Theman and Umar Mustapha.
The chairman of the Electoral Committee, Gambo Lawan, said on Friday that Binani scored 430 votes to defeat Ribadu, who came second with 288 votes.
Bindo had 103 votes, Namdas 94, Mustapha 39 and Wafari 21.
