Sarkin Tambuwal Alhaji Mainasara Sa’ad Dahiru died Thursday evening in Abuja after a protracted illness, Dateline Nigeria reports.
The traditional ruler was until his death the District Head of Tambuwal in Sokoto State.
He was buried in Sokoto after Friday prayers, family sources confirmed to Dateline Nigeria.
Meanwhile, the Sokoto State Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal has condoled with the family and relations of the late monarch.
In a terse statement signed by his spokesman Muhammad Bello, the governor said:
“It is with heavy heart and total submission to the will of Allah that I, on behalf of the government and good people of Sokoto State,
announce the passage of our Royal Father, the District Head of Tambuwal, Alhaji Sa’ad Mainasara Attahiru.
“May Allah (SWT) grant him Aljannatul Firdaus and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.”
