Sarkin Sudan: 43 jostle for Kontagora throne

Niger State Commissioner for Local Government Community Development and Chieftaincy Affairs Barrister Abdulmalik Sarkin Daji has said that 43 applications have been received from persons seeking to occupy the Kontagora throne.

He said the kingmakers had earlier selected Galadiman Kontagora to lead the process, even as submission of interest closes today (Friday).

The Galadima, Alhaji Shehu Yusuf, has promised to be fair and just in their assignment without any fear of interference from government. He said the government usually intervenes in the selection process when there is injustice against a contender.
