Rector to partner Bida Forum on community development

Rector of the Federal Polytechnic Bida, Dr. Abubakar Abdul Dzukogi yesterday promised to collaborate with a Nupe Socio-cultural group, Bida Forum for achievements of its objectives for the people.

The Rector, who spoke when the Forum’s newly inaugurated members of the Executive Council paid him a courtesy visit in his office, also harped on ‘unity’ as a tool for fostering concrete development among the various groups and organizations in the community.

According to him, there was the need for the Forum’s new leaders to be focused in championing only issues that bring about good developments to the society, adding that “in your approach to issues of general concern, there is need for you to be respectful, law abiding and not violent or abusive.”

He therefore urged stakeholders to remain committed to doing what is good for the community even as he promised to support the Forum in all her profitable undertakings.

Speaking earlier, the new Chairman of the Forum Dr. Mohammed Ishaq commended the Rector for the various development programs attracted to the Polytechnic during his tenure.

“We shall only concentrate on issues that serve the interest and benefit of our people and nothing more.” Ishaq further told the Rector.

He also added that efforts were on top gear to work closely with the polytechnic especially in the areas of achieving success for its quiz and debates competition, sports competition and other profitable opportunities for the host community.
