Publish details of your road contracts, Makarfi Ambassadors dare El-Rufai

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) support group under umbrella of Makarfi Ambassadors has challenged Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai to publish details of the contracts for the projects executed by his administration, especially road construction.

The group in a press statement jointly signed by Mr. Abdullahi Ahmed – Coordinator on General-Matters and Engr. Bolade Aina – Coordinator Planning/Strategy, said former Governor Ahmed Makarfi executed several projects and the details are now public knowledge.

They were responding to comments attributed to El-Rufai where he said that he never stole a kobo from Kaduna State government, challenging his predecessors to swear, if their hands are clean, as he threatened to expose them for pilfering the state treasury.

“Governor El-Rufai said he has never stolen a kobo of Kaduna State money. He also said that all the loans he collected were tied to specific projects which the people can see, adding that he is ready swear to an oath. That is not necessary. We challenge the governor to publish the details of his project in the interest of transparency and accountability.”

The group added that “El-Rufai should concentrate on his remaining days in office as the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Isa Ashiru Kudan gets set to emerge as the elected governor of Kaduna State.

“No amount of name-calling will stop PDP’s victory in the coming election. The people have resolved to put an end to the reckless eight years of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in which the people don’t matter.

“The administration of Ahmed Makarfi from 1999 to 2007 saw the execution of numerous projects which earned him to sobriquet Limamin raya karkara da birane. This is because his projects were sited all over the state in both rural and urban areas.”
