Police kill 3 bandits, arrest 3 others in Katsina

The Katsina State Police Command has killed three suspected bandits and arrested three others.

The spokesman of the command, Superintendent of Police, Gambo Isah, who paraded the corpses of the bandits alongside the arrested suspects, also announced the recovery of one AK 49 and 2 AK47 rifles with 96 rounds of live 7.62 millimeters ammunition.

Isa also that 160 cows, 174 sheep, and two motorcycles were recovered from different operations.

Meanwhile, a suspected arms dealer, kidnapper, and cattle rustler Ibrahim Ma’aruf has been arrested at a spot, between Dustin-ma and Safana Local Government Areas, with 40 rustled cows.

Isah said that the suspect was also rounded up with a total of 96 rounds of 7.62 millimeters ammunition of AK 47 rifle, and a sum of Seven hundred and eighty thousand Naira at a police checkpoint, along Dutsinma to Safana road, where he fled and escaped police arrest.

He added that investigations are on with a view to arresting the other fleeing members of the different gangs.
