PDP stalwart scolds Ortom for calling Bauchi gov terrorist

A chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Malla Bibi Dogo has berated Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom for calling Governor of Bauchi State Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed a terrorist.

Bibi Dogo, while speaking to journalists on the matter in Bauchi on Wednesday, said the leadership of the PDP and Benue State House of Assembly should call Governor Ortom to order for the image of the party.

“Ortom’s action portrayed him as a man who doesn’t love this country, who doesn’t care about the unity of this country, who doesn’t care about the truth, who doesn’t care how fellow human beings were maimed and killed,” he said.

The PDP stalwart said Governor Bala spoke the truth about the issues at hand and cautioned the reckless actions of some state governors which threaten the unity of Nigeria.

Bibi Dogo said it is true that Governor Ortom started the infringement on the fundamental human rights of Nigerians that give them the right to move and stay in any place of their choice in the country, adding that the quit notice by Ondo government to the herdsmen was unfortunate.

He said Governor Bala Mohammed, as an elected governor, has a right to protect not only the interest of his own people, but the interest of Nigerians in general.

“If you can remember he (Ortom) was an APC Governor and because of his dismal performance he was denied a ticket for second term and he came to PDP and PDP gave him opportunity thinking he will change.

“So I am disappointed with the remarks of Governor Ortom over what my Governor said. Senator Bala Mohammed was not talking as a sectional leader but as a someone qualified to lead this country,” Bibi Dogo said.

He also accused Governor Ortom of using herdsmen and farmers crisis to win his second term, adding that what Governor Bala Mohammed achieved in Bauchi in less than two years was better than that of Governor Ortom in six years in Benue State.
