A couple with their three kids have been killed in a car crash while travelling from Kano to Jigawa State.
The deceased include Abubakar Isa Birnin Kudu (father), his wife Firdausi and three children: Sabir, Sabrin and Mahir. Sabir was said to have given up at the hospital.
Dateline Nigeria learnt from sources that the accident occurred on Sunday when the family members were returning to Dutse, Jigawa State capital, after visiting the father’s parents in Kano.
One of the sources said “the kids were our pupils in school. We have no information as to what caused the accident which reportedly occurred around Gaya (Kano).
“But their janaza was held in Kano where they were all buried. May Almighty Allah forgive them and strengthen their family.”
When contacted on Monday, the spokesman for the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Kano, Kabiru Daura, said the accident was handled by the Jigawa State Sector Command of the Corps.
The spokesman for the FRSC in Jigawa State, Ado Adamu, could not be reached for comment.
