The meeting was at the instance of Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike and Adamawa State Governor Umaru Fintiri and it held at the private House of the former in Port Harcourt.

However, the two governors have maintained that their arguments over a comment made by the Bauchi governor on the bearing of arms by herders were for the good of the country, not to cause an ethnic crisis..

Bayelsa State Governor Duoye During had earlier urged Ortom and Mohammed to cease fire and called on the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to intervene.
