Obasanjo loses polling unit to APC, hails INEC for introducing BVAs

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has failed to deliver his polling unit for his anointed presidential candidate Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Obasanjo, who cast his vote at unit 22, ward 11, Olusomi compound at Abeokuta North at 10: 33 am, endorsed Obi but didn’t drum support for his anointed candidate.

When the votes were counted, the Labour Party got only 9 votes to APC’s 56 and PDP’s 7 in the polling unit.

The total number of registered voters at the polling unit was 693. But only 91 voters turned out while 10 ballot papers were voided.

In the senatorial election at the same polling unit; PPD had 31 votes, APC 37, ADP 1, ADC 7, Labour 4 and APM 2 votes.

Obasanjo commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), for the introduction of BVAS which he said had improved the electoral process. (TheNation)
