NULGE president Ibrahim Khaleel dies in Abuja

Thw National President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Comrade Ibrahim Khaleel has died.

He was confirmed dead on Wednesday at the National Hospital in Abuja where he was taken to after he slumped, sources told Dateline Nigeria.

Kano NULGE chairman, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo, who also confirmed the death to Dateline Nigeria, said the late NULGE boss would be buried in his hometown Wudil local government area of Kano State on Thursday.

Khaleel, who was in his second term as NULGE president, was until his death the National Treasurer of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and a staff of Kano State Ministry for Local Government.

The Accountancy graduate at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and holder of MBA at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Bauchi, was also an alumnus of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru, in Plateau State.

Khaleel was an advocate of LG autonomy in the country.
