The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has announced the death of its first outrider ASC I Dickson Dike.
Dike died around 8pm on Tuesday while leading the way for the NSCDC Commandant-General Dr Abubakar Ahmed Audi.
The accident took place at an intersection close to the CG’s official residence, along Asokoro extension in Abuja.
“Dike lost control of his bike and ran into a culvert while trying to negotiate a U-turn to join the rest of the CG’c convoy. He later died as a result of the head injury he sustained,” a source said.
The spokesman of NSCDC, DCC Olusola Odumosu said “The entire management and staff of Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) mourns a very gallant officer, ASC I Dickson Dike, the first outrider of the Corps. May his soul rest in perfect peace.”
